New Air Canada Flight from Montreal to Belize
Important Notes:
New Nonstop Flight: Montreal to Belize!
The Belize Tourism Board, in partnership with Air Canada, announces a new nonstop flight from Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) to Belize (BZE) starting December 8, 2025.
This is the first direct air service between Montreal and Belize which also allows for same-day connections from over 20 European cities including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid, Rome, Lisbon, Zurich, and Vienna.
Flight Schedule:
* YUL → BZE, AC 1876: Mondays, 5:45 PM – 10:05 PM
* BZE → YUL, AC 1877: Tuesdays, 11:00 AM – 4:40 PM
This service builds on Air Canada’s existing Toronto-Belize route.

Nonstop Spirit Flights: Fort Lauderdale to Belize

Spirit Airlines has introduced a new nonstop route between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Belize City (BZE). This service is currently operating as follows: ir.spirit.com

Frequency: 3 flights per week — Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays

Shared Flight over Blue Hole
Important Notes:
We offer shared flight over Blue Hole. Departures are typically from San Pedro, Belize (Ambergris Caye), Caye Caulker, Belize, or Belize City, Belize (municipal airport — not the international airport).
Flights usually last about 1 hour.
Planes are small — often 5-seat light aircraft; every seat is a window seat (or close to) for optimal viewing.
There are two companies offering the shared flight over Blue Hole are: Tropic Air & Maya Island Air.

Important Notes:
There are shared water-taxi / ferry services between Belize (or the islands) and Chetumal, Quintana Roo (Mexico). Border/immigration: because it is an international crossing, all passengers will need valid passport/entry fees, and the need to factor in extra time for immigration and customs on both sides. 2 Hours check in required.
A valid passport is required.

Tren Maya Experience
Mark Magana – (Operations Manager) experience with Tren Maya:
The Tren Maya experience was efficient and straightforward. Check-in at the station begins approximately 30 to 45 minutes prior to departure. For the check-in process, travelers are required to present their ticket or e-ticket along with a valid identification. Both passengers and luggage will be screened before being allowed access to the waiting area, after which they can proceed to the boarding platform.
To the best of my recollection, the journey from Cancun to Tulum lasted nearly two hours, while the segment from Tulum to Chetumal took approximately three and a half hours. Although the train is not notably fast, it maintains a comfortable speed outside of station stops, accounting for the overall travel durations.
Our trip was very smooth and comfortable. We were seated in the last carriage; when we needed to stretch, we simply walked two carriages forward, where snacks were available for purchase to help pass the time.
Upon arrival at the stations, there are either official shuttles or taxis available for hire to transport passengers to their specific accommodations within town.
Below is the schedule for those clients departing/arriving Belize and would like to connect to Mexico with the Tren Maya.
Cancun ↔ Chetumal
A major coastal route:
- Cancún → Chetumal : ~ 9:00 pm departure, ~ 1:38 pm arrival in Chetumal (night • next day) depending on service pattern.
- Chetumal → Cancun : ~ 4:30 pm departure, ~ Cancún arrival later evening.
You must buy tickets through official channels (online on the Tren Maya site or at station ticket counters)
